Less than 3-weeks to get health insurance for January coverage

President Obama is kicking off a three week push to re-focus the nation on the Affordable Care Act’s benefits. The President vows to keep fighting for the law amid a lot of criticism over its troubled roll out. “We’re not going back,” Obama said.

This comes ahead of the Dec. 23 deadline for individuals to sign up for insurance coverage beginning Jan. 1.

With enrollment deadlines looming, many are opting to sign up for health coverage in person.

At public health department clinics and social services offices, certified enrollment counselors work with applicants. The application process takes about 20-30 minutes, an appointment is preferred.

Also the Covered California number 1-800-300-1506 will be available 7-days a week for those who will be registering last minute.

NewsChannel 3 Anchor Shirin Rajaee spoke to locals about their enrollment experience.
