Dead Body Found in Strawberry Field

Investigators are trying to figure out how a man’s body ended up in a strawberry field.

The body was found just after six Tuesday morning off Olivas Park Drive, West of Telephone Road near Ventura.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office has not yet identified the man. Investigators spent several hours at the scene on Tuesday trying to figure out how the man died.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office says at this time there are no indications that this was a homicide.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who has information to contact Detective Sergeant Todd Inglis at (805)384-4730 or Ventura County Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477).

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 reward for information, which leads to the arrest and criminal complaint against the person(s) responsible.
