Mac Mechanic Sells to MacSuperstore

The Mac Mechanic in Santa Barbara has been sold to the MacSuperstore with locations in San Luis Obispo and Colorado.

The deal took place earlier this month.

Signs have been changed at the Gutierrez St. location as the store combines the staffs and inventory.

Out going owner Mike Bishop, a long time Santa Barbara businessman, said a recent illness made the sale a priority now. He says the MacSuperstore will offer the same customers service and on site repairs. Bishop also said customers will be pleased with the selections and help from the staff members when it comes to purchases and instruction.

Bishop was known in the community for generous donations and discounts to local schools and start-up operations. He says in the long run, he developed solid customers and good, loyal business relationships.

The Mac Mechanic was a regular winner in the Santa Barbara Independent’s “Best of” reader’s poll. Several awards are hung on the store wall.

As the transition takes place, the MacSuperstore will continue to offer seminars and courses on Apple products regularly.

Bishop also owns Richard’s Accurate Service nearby and says it is not going to be sold.
