First Thanksgiving in Paso Robles

Thanksgiving is just a few days away and for one family in Paso Robles there is one more thing to be thankful for.

In April the Avina family used an international adoption agency to adopt Johanna From Colombia. This Thanksgiving will be her first holidaywith her new Family.

Johanna says that she’s celebrated it before,but this year will bedifferent because of the food and traditions.

The US Citizenship and Immigration Services assisted in the adoption process. Theyfind new homes for thousands of kids each year.

Johana also says that she has had many other first since being in the U.S. New clothes, shoes, games and even going to school.

Her main focus in school is learning English. In the meantime her new family has learned Spanish, including her 10-year-old brother, who says they cant stop playing.
