JFK 50 years later: Where were you?

As Americans mark the 50th anniversary of President Kennedy’s assassination, they’re also recalling where they where that fall day in 1963.

NewsChannel 3 dug into archives to find our coverage of that day. It was November 22 1963, and law enforcement had prepared for weeks. President John F. Kennedy had his eyes on re-election in ’64. The eyes of Dallas were on him and the first lady.

At about 12:30 central time the piercing sound of that assassins bullet broke through the smiles and cheers at Dealy plaza in Dallas. Whether you witnessed it firsthand, or watched it replay on news programs, the images of the day the President was shot and killed have echoed through 50 years of history.

NewsChannel 3 Anchor Shirin Rajaee reports.
