Rain Provides No Relief
The recent rain has done little to ease concerns over fire dangers and drought conditions in Santa Barbara County.
The heaviest rain from the latest storm went through Northern California.
Last night, San Marcos Pass received nearly an inch of rain, the highest amount in the county.
Lake Cachuma, however, remains low at only 42 percent of its capacity and dropping.
Fire officials say the brush is very dry and conditions are extreme.
They point out, a week ago, we had windy weather and temperatures over 80 degrees at 10 pm.
Visitors in the Santa Ynez Valley said they actually expected sunshine and dressed for it. They were surprised the rain materialized.
Dry weather is ahead until late next week when another weak storm passes through.
