Reaction to JP Morgan Chase Settlement Not Mixed
People strolling by banks along State Street in Santa Barbara were not impressed by the multi-billion dollars settlement between the JP Morgan and the Justice Department.
The 13 billion dollar settlement is the biggest in the history, but no one is going to jail, yet.
Homeowners and people saving to buy homes don’t think the settlement will curb risky business practices on Wall Street.
But officials say some of the billions will help homeowners underwater on their loan.
A small portion will also help neighborhoods blighted by foreclosures.
