Police Arrest Two In Sex Trafficking Case Involving 15-Year-Old Girl

An anonymous tip helped Oxnard police find a teenage girl brought to the area for child prostitution.

The tip came in Saturday morning and led to an investigation at a home on the 100 block of North Harrison Avenue, just down the street from the Rescue Mission thrift shop.

Officers found a 15-year-old girl inside the home.

Community Affairs Manager Miguel Lopez called it a case of human trafficking.

Officers arrested Rolando Ramirez, 34, and Graciela Vasquez, 23, of Oxnard.

Lopez said Vasquez allegedly brought the teen from Los Angeles to Oxnard for the purpose of child prostitution.

Investigators think the teen was forced into having sex with Ramirez.

Women leaving the home Tuesday with young children did not speak English, but said with the help of an interpreter they didn’t think anything criminal was going on at the house.

Child Protective Services personnel removed the 10 children from the home temporarily.

Authorities said they were still investigating the role of a female landlord who rents out rooms to multiple families.

Police met with community members in La Colonia Monday night to discuss this and a string of shooting in the area this month. One shooting was fatal.

Anyone with information is urged to call detectives at (805) 385-7636
