Turkey Donations a Blessing for Those in Need

More than 2000 people will have a Thanksgiving meal after a turkey and chicken drive by two Montecito area churches.

Our Lady of Mt. Carmel collected 500 turkeys and 111 chickens Sunday, along with cash donations in excess of $5000.

The turkeys were piled into special bins to be distributed to the Santa Barbara County Food Bank and Catholic Charities.

A donation from Montecito Covenant Church also brought in 40 turkeys.

The Food Bank says if you would still like to help, they could use your donation this week, to make sure the gift is ready for the holiday.

That can be a turkey, chicken, or a cash donation.
