Make-A-Wish Enjoying the Spotlight

Make-A-Wish Tri-Counties is answering plenty of calls in the wake of the most talked-about wish this year.

A San Franciso boy’s Batman wish has already translated into publicity and calls from people wanting to help.

CEO Shanna Wasson Taylor said she is thrilled with the interest.

And the timing couldn’t be better. The Tri-Counties chapter is preparing to train a new crop of volunteers in the Santa Barbara area.

It is also collecting airline miles to make new wishes come true.

This week, a Simi Valley 10-year-old, with Rasmussen’s encephalitis, will be flown to Florida to meet the dolphin in “Dolphin Tale.”

An Oxnard toddler with Hemophagocytic lympohistiocytosis will meet Minnie Mouse at Disneyland next Thursday.

This month, a West Ventura teen will receive a backyard skate ramp if supplies are donated.

For information on how you can help, donate or refer a child in Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties, call 1-888-899-9474 [WISH] or log on to www://tri-counties.wish.org/ways-to-help/giving/airline-miles.

Donations may also be sent to Make-A-Wish at 4222 Market St., Suite D, Ventura, CA 93003.
