Rewards Offered in Post Office Burglaries
The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering rewards of up to $10,000 for information from burglaries of post office branches in Los Olivos and Shandon.
The Los Olivos post office was burglarized sometime after closing time on November 6. The robbery was discovered the following morning.
The Shandon burglary was sometime after closing on November 5.
Rewards were offered for information on each incident.
For Los Olivos, information can be given around the clock to Postal Inspectors at 877-876-2455, press 2, and refer to Case Number 2006381.
For Shandon, information can be given 24 hours a day to Postal Inspectors at 877-876-2455, press 2, and refer to Case Number 2006257.
In Los Olivos, 50 to 100 packages and certified letters were opened in a back room that was “ransacked” according to postal officials on the scene. Some items from those packages were taken. A full list of the stolen items is being compiled.
No post office box mail inside the lobby was taken. Los Olivos residents get their mail at the post office, not at home boxes at individual addresses.
