Tip Leads Police to Burglary Suspect

A man is in custody Thursday in connection with two burglaries at the UC Santa Barbara Campus.

Jeffrey Allen Stevens, 26, was arrested in Goleta at 10:15 a.m. outside of McDonald’s in the Camino Real Marketplace.

University Police collected evidence and information that connected Stevens to the crimes at San Clemente Residence Hall and Cheadle Hall.

Officials said a tip lead to the arrest location. Some of the stolen items were found with the suspect at the time of the arrest.

Stevens was booked into Santa Barbara County Jail and bail has been set for $20,000.00.
