New Coupon Book Keeps on Giving from Goleta to Carpinteria

Two businessmen have a new pocket coupon book in Santa Barbara that gives multiple discounts without ever tearing out a page.

Iver Petersen and Jued Martinez have created the booklet with over 20 pages packed with discounts, two for one deals, and some local information like maps and phone numbers.

Anyone using it can keep it for another day, use it again, or pass it on. None of the coupons have to be torn out, they only need to be shown for the deal.

About 7500 are stacked throughout the area in coffee shops, newspaper stands, and businesses from Goleta to Carpinteria.

Most of the discounts for now are in Santa Barbara.

One business, Gino’s Pizza on Figueroa St. says it has seen about 15 new customers a week since putting an ad in the booklet.

“What we’ve found is they get a ten to 30 percent increase in business in the first 30, 60, 90 days in the booklet,” said Petersen. “We had somebody, Scott Stanley at Esau’s say he had a customer that said he had never been in the restaurant before but he came in because he saw the coupon in the book and liked it. That’s what we are looking for.”
