Santa Barbara Hosts Open Street Movement
The Open Streets movement made its way to Santa Barbara Saturday.
Organizers created a 2.5 mile public space for strolling, cycling and dancing.
Fans of Cyclovia events in Los Angeles said they couldn’t wait to attend SB Open Streets.
An area of the Funk Zone was closed too.
One creative cyclist towed a couch on wheels. It reminded some people to trade in their couch potato ways for outdoor exercise.
Greg Montoya of Central Coast Water said the Camarillo-based company provided bottled water for free.
Children learned the importance of drinking water from Potter the Otter of First Five California.
Rep. Lois Capps was on hand too. She said the event was good for the environment.
