Chemistry Students Host Science Carnival
Cal State University Channel Islands is preparing to host its 2013 Science Carnival Saturday at Thurgood-Marshall Elementary School from 5p.m. to 8 p.m.
State Senator Hannah-Beth Jackson said she will be on hand for the fun.
The Science Carnival is free for children and their families.
Chemistry students will give kids a chance to take part in hands-on learning in a Halloween carnival setting.
The effect of liquid nitrogen on a balloon is one example of a demonstration students will be doing.
Naval Base Ventura County, the Society of Women Engineers and the Chemistry Departments from Moorpark, Ventura and Westmont Colleges are involved, too.
