Large Dog Injured During Sheriff Investigation
A dog in Goleta was shot by a sheriff’s deputy around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
A sheriff’s investigation led deputies to a home on the 4500 block of Auhay Drive, where a large dog inside the home charged deputies several times, according to a spokesperson for the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department.
A deputy fired a single shot at the dog. The dog was then transported by his owner to a local animal hospital.
The condition of the dog is unknown at this time.
