SBCC set to launch an eco-entrepreneurship program

SantaBarbara City College is getting ready to add more “green” to their curriculum. The school will be launching a new eco-entrepreneurship program this spring.

The goal is to get students not only more involved with business but green businesses. Professor Dr. Adam Green says he hopes students will be able to identify the benefits of eco-friendly modifications and apply them to business models.

SBCC hopes the program will be unique among two and four year colleges. The interdisciplinary program will build on existing courses in the sciences, sustainability, entrepreneurship and business and create new courses.

It’s also a way to get the campus more sustainable and environmentally responsible.
The certificate program includes course topicssuch asthe life cycle process of a product, sustainable technology, and environmental ethics and regulations.
