Rebuilding the Burned Town Center Hotel

The owner of the Town Center Hotel met with contractors today.

After surveying the hotel, owner Rolland Jacks tells News Channel 3 the north side of the hotel is almost ready to move into.

Earlier this month, former hotel employee Amos Lee Andrews is believed to have set fire to the hotel.

The burn left 60 residents homeless.

The north side was damaged not by the fire itself, but by firefighters saving residents.

Jacks says those repairs are almost done and residents may be able to move in as early as this Friday.

The south side suffered a total loss and will take up to nine months to repair.

Jacks says he is taking this opportunity to make rooms larger and more modern.
