Coast Guard Station Receives New Boat
The U.S. Coast Guard has a new boat.
Visitors can see it docked at the Coast Guard station in the Channel Islands Harbor.
The 45-foot RB-M response boat is designed to improve crew safety during all kinds of missions.
Last December, veteran Coast Guard Officer Terrell Horne was killed after a suspected drug smuggling boat rammed his small vessel near Santa Cruz Island.
The new response boat is part of the Coast Guard’s plan to revitalize its fleet.
