Locally produced movie ‘The Bet’ wins top award

The locally produced movie “The Bet” has won a top honor in Los Angeles.

This week it was chosen as the Best Feature Film in the La Femme Film Festival.

The movie was made by the non-profit Community Film Studio in Santa Barbara in 2012.

It was released at a premier showing in April at the Arlington Theater.

The production team is lead by veteran actress Finola Hughes. Many local residents were in the movie and it as shot on location in Santa Barbara.

The film will be shown again in November for a Carpinteria fundraiser.
