Robotic Bartender Serves Drinks in Santa Barbara
A silver colored robotic bartender spent Sunday evening dispensing drinks at the James Joyce bar in Santa Barbara. The invention was built locally and it drew a large crowd.
Named “Volterra” the robot previously appeared at the “Burning Man” music and arts festival during the summer.
Customers could chose from a list of drinks, and enter in a four number code, then stand back and watch the robot work.
The liquor and mixers are in tubes that have been shaped like a hand with several fingers. The drink is shot in a funnel, and the customer holds a glass of ice below.
There will also be a robotic bartender convention in San Francisco later this month.
