Injured Veterans Hit the Road on Bicycles

About 200 veterans with physical and psychological injuries are taking part in a 450-mile ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles.

It’s called the United Healthcare Ride 2 Recovery Challenge.

The cyclists stopped in Santa Barbara for lunch with state Sen. Hannah-Beth Jackson and other supporters.

They shared stories about their journey at the Visitors Center City Lot off Garden Street.

After lunch, they headed to Ventura, where they will stay at the Crowne Plaza overnight.

They will meet with Rep. Julia Brownley and Ventura City Council member Christy Weir in the morning.

Then they will head to their final destination, Los Angeles.
