Happy Reaction to End of Shutdown

People overwhelmingly seemed happy to hear the president was signing legislation to end the shutdown.

Several people said they have lost respect for elected leaders.

Some people blamed the continuing controversy surrounding the Affordable Care law.

Karl Rittger was disappointed that negotiations will resume again in January, but he said he won’t have to cancel his trip to the Channel Islands.

Tourists at the end of their vacations said the deal came too late for them to see the historic national parks on their itinerary.

Max Stahl, of Germany, said they don’t have giant national parks where he lives.
