Hotel Fire Victims Still Struggling to Find Homes

About 50 residents of Santa Maria’s Town Center Hotel are staying at the Minami Community Center, but the American Red Cross says they can only stay there until the 25th.

Meanwhile, the man suspected of trying to set the hotel on fire appeared in court today only to continue his case.

57-year-old Amos Lee Andrews is being charged with arson and burglary. Police say he also set two nearby dumpsters on fire.

Police have confirmed that Andrews was an employee of the hotel.

Residents who knew him say they thought he was a friend, but now they hope he’ll be found guilty.

His arraignment is rescheduled for next Tuesday.

You can help displaced victims by donating to the Red Cross or the Good Samaritan Shelter.
