Santa Barbara County Undersheriff Resigns
A shakeup in the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office occurred Tuesday. Undersheriff Jim Peterson submitted his resignation.
A department spokesperson confirmed Peterson is leaving for “family/personal reasons.”
Sheriff Bill Brown promoted Peterson to undersheriff two and a half years ago.
The undersheriff position is the second-highest job within the sheriff’s department.
