Small Grass Fire Contained

Santa Barbara County Fire responded to a grass fire Thursday. The fire was reported at 1 p.m. on 5560 Black Road in Santa Maria near Casmalia.

Air attack units were canceled after ground crews said they could handle the blaze. Officials said the fire was burning in light grass.

The flames were contained to 1 to 1.5 acres at 1:40 p.m. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
