Power Outage Causes Neighborhood to Run on Generators

Around 56 homes on Primavera Road near Bishop Diego High School in Santa Barbara have been without normal power since Tuesday.

Southern California Edison says the outage was caused by underground cables that for one reason or another stopped working. Crews are now repairing those lines.

Generators were brought in and they line the street providing back-up power to the homes that were without any power for about 11 hours Wednesday night and into Thursday morning.

The power company says the repairs should be finished by Thursday night. Residents will lose power for a short time when they are switched off the generators and put back on Edison’s power grid.
