McNally Found Guilty of Murder
A Lompoc federal prison guard is guilty of second degree murder. The verdict was reached Thursday in a Santa Maria courtroom.
Timothy McNally shot 32-year-old Gary Bent in the neck inside an Embassy Suites hotel room. Bent was also a prison guard.
McNally shot him while they were both drinking at the hotel. He claimed it was an accident. This is the second trial for McNally. In the first one a jury was unable to reach a verdict.
McNally will be sentenced next month. He faces a minimum of 15 years to life behind bars.
