Broken Pipe Floods Santa Barbara Dentist’s Office

A Santa Barbara dentist’s office is closed this morning after a broken pipe flooded their office.

Santa Barbara City Fire crews responded to Dr. Hurtado Dentistry at 609 State Street around 9 a.m. Wednesday morning. Firefighters thought the broken pipe may have caused the roof to cave in, but they quickly learned thatonly thedrop-down tiles fell after getting wet.

Firefightersshutoff the water and power and then began tosave somemany of the paper documentsthatgot wet during the flooding. Crew also spent much of their time squeegeeing the floors and removing damaged ceiling tiles.

No one was injuredandcrews are trying tofigure out what caused the pipe tobreak.

Customers who had appointments quickly learned that they were going to have to reschedule.
