Alano Club 50th Anniversary Celebrated with Michael McDonald concert
The Santa Barbara Alano Club has celebrated its 50th anniversary with a concert and fundraiser featuring music superstar Michael McDonald.
McDonald is a multiple Grammy winner. Friday night he performed his individual hits and also songs from the days when he was a member of the Doobie Brothers.
The Alano Club has helped local residents recover from alcohol and drugs for five decades.
Organizers say this is the largest fundraiser they have put together to help laugh several new programs and also improvement to the aging building on Cota and Garden Streets.
Joining McDonald was Herman’s Hermits leader Peter Noone of Montecito who also provided music and comedy for the show.
