3 People Sought After Santa Maria Shooting

Santa Maria Police are searching for two men and a woman after what has been labeled a gang-related shooting Tuesday morning near the Budget Inn at 909 North Broadway.

The SWAT team was called in and streets were blocked off when officers first thought it was a standoff as three people were seen running toward the motel after the shooting. They were questioned and then released by police.

The victim was shot in the leg and taken to a local hospital for treatment with non life-threatening injuries.

Santa Maria police released general descriptions of the three people still being sought.

Both of the men sought are Hispanic. One is estimated to be in his mid-20’s, wearing all black clothing with a thin build. The other is described as short, also wearing all-black clothing.

The woman being sought is described as Hispanic, running with a limp, wearing all black clothing and has long dark hair.

Santa Maria Police ask anyone with information on the incident to call 928-3781.
