Search for Suspects after Stabbing in Isla Vista

The search is on for suspects after a stabbing in Isla Vista early Saturday morning.

Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s officials say a group of people confronted two men in their 20s around 12:15 a.m. on the 6500 block of Del Playa Drive.

An argument broke out and quickly escalated into a violent confrontation. One of the men was stabbed in the back. He is hospitalized in serious condition. The other was hit over the head with a bottle and suffered minor injuries.

Department spokesperson Kelly Hoover told NewsChannel 3 that the two victims are students at Santa Barbara City College (SBCC).

Authorities say the suspects, three men and one woman, took off and are still on the loose.

The Isla Vista Foot Patrol and UC Police are helping with the investigation.
