Not Everyone is Taking Emergency Preparedness Warnings Seriously

In the next emergency, are you prepared with food and water? Some people say they are, and others plan to take it all in stride.

Residents we spoke with Carpinteria were certainly aware of the warnings and advisories from the media and government officials. This week there have been many because of the forecast of high winds and low humidity.

One resident, Luch Coke, had a pre made kit in the trunk of her car with food, water, tools, and a blanket. She said her some bought it for her at a local home improvement store and she added other essential items.

Another person said he had very little and would deal with the emergency when it comes.

One rancher, Tracy Doop said he had plenty of water, firewood and four cows if the emergency left him stranded.

Many stores have cases of water at the entrance to help customers who want to beef up their emergency kits or increase their existing supplies.
