Dennis Rickard Named New Old Spanish Days El Presidente

Dennis Rickard has been named the new El Presidente for Santa Barbara’s Old Spanish Days Fiesta.

Last year, Rickard was a Vice President.

Rickard was chosen to the prestigious post in a meeting by the Old Spanish Days Board of Directors last night.

His family has deep roots in Santa Barbara history dating back to Jose de la Guerra. Rickard’s grandfather, John was El Presidente in 1949. Recently the airport terminal building was named after John Rickard who was also a former Santa Barbara Mayor.

The official appointments announced by Old Spanish Days are:

El Presidente – Dennis Rickard

Primer Vice Presidente – Cas Stimson

Segundo Presidente – JC Gordon

Vice Presidenta Secretaria – Barbara Carroll

Vice Presidenta Tesorera – Rhonda Henderson

Division Chief, External Relations – Stephanie Petlow

Division Chief, Dance & Entertainment – Denise Sanford

Division Chief, Mercados – Joe Fonte Division Chief,

Celebrations – Angela Miller-Bevan

Division Chief, Pageantry – Marc Martinez
