UCSB Breaks Ground On Library Expansion Project

Work is underway to expand the library at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

University officials broke ground on the project Tuesday.

The plan is to renovate the existing library and add another 60,000 square feet. There will be an arts library with exhibit space. The addition also includes more study space. There will also be more places for students to plug in their wireless devices and access the Internet.

The $76 million project is expected to be complete in January 2016.
