Third Cruise Ship Arrives in Santa Barbara in Four Days

It’s not quite Puerto Vallarta but Santa Barbara waters are becoming a very welcoming spot for cruise ships.

The third ship in four days has anchored off Stearns Wharf.

The Princess Cruise line brought the Golden Princess to the near shore waters this morning for a one day stop.

Passengers are coming ashore for scenic tours on trolleys and on foot to shopping districts, city landmarks and wine country.

Santa Barbara will be seeing 11 cruise ship stops this fall.

With each visit the city says it sees an economic boost at local stores and restaurants, and it also receives a small fee for each passengers that is on the ship.

The mid week visits are especially encouraged when they can be scheduled, although last weekend a cruise ship stopped on both Saturday and Sunday.
