Time-Warner Drops KEYT in Some Ventura County Cities

Time-Warner Cable customers in Eastern Ventura County (and some communities in Western Los Angeles County) are no longer able to view KEYT NewsChannel 3.

Time-Warner confirmed on Friday the station’s signal was removed from systems in the following communities:

– Agoura Hills (LA County)

– Calabasas (LA County)

– Fillmore (Ventura County)

– Moorpark (Ventura County)

– Oak Park (Ventura County)

– Thousand Oaks (Ventura County)

– Simi Valley (Ventura County)

Some viewers reported to NewsChannel 3 they were told by Time-Warner representatives the decision to be removed was made by KEYT, which is not correct. The station has agreed to be carried on all the affected cable systems where the signal was dropped. Because these communities are outside of NewsChannel 3’s designated market area of San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties, the station cannot require coverage.

Time-Warner customers in Eastern Ventura County may request a return of KEYT NewsChannel 3 to their cable lineup, but Time-Warner Cable is under no legal obligation to provide it.

A FCC ruling does require KEYT NewsChannel 3’s HD signal be carried on Time-Warner Cable (Channel 388) in the following Western Ventura County cities:

– Ventura

– Oxnard

– Camarillo

– Santa Paula

– Ojai
