Late Night Fire Rips Through Santa Maria Pallet Storage Company
Fire crews put out a large industrial fire in Santa Maria.
Fire officials say the fire broke out around 10 p.m. Tuesday outside a pallet storage company in the 1500 block of Betteravia Road.
A Santa Maria Fire Department official said several stacks of pallets as well as machinery and vehicles were burned.
Fire crews aggressively attacked the fire with large hand lines in an effort to control the flames and stop their rapid progression. They were able to completely knock down the flames about two hours later.
No injuries were reported to residents or firefighters.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
