Volunteers in policing wanted

The Ventura Police Department is looking for a few good volunteers. The eighth Volunteers in Policing Academy starts next month. The ten-week training teaches VIP graduates to assist officers on non-emergency calls.

VIPs must be willing to volunteer at least 16-hours a month. Community members interested in joining the Academy may contact Senior Police Services Officer Tracey Coert at 805-339-4320 or e-mail him at tcoert@venturapd.org. Applications are also available for download at www.venturapd.org.
