New Signs May Make Intersection Safer

The intersection of De la Vina and Carrillo Streets in Santa Barbara should be safer soon.

New “no right turn” signs have gone up on De la Vina where drivers turn from the one way street to the west.

It’s an area where pedestrians and vehicles often have conflicts.

Drivers will not have to stop, and only proceed when the light turns green.

The signs went up this week, but in just a few minutes today, it was apparent that drivers still need to take notice. Several drivers did not heed the warning and still turned on the red light.
