Highway 101 Re-Opens After Fuel Spill

Traffic is again moving in the northbound lanes of Highway 101 after a big rig fuel tank spill.

Several agencies responded. The freeway was fully closed at 11:00 in the morning, then later limited to one lane until both lanes were cleared at 2:45 on Wednesday afternoon.

Investigators believe the truck hit some debris which ruptured a secondary fuel tank on the rig, spilling at least 20 gallons onto the roadway just north of the San Ysidro exit.
