Santa Barbara Helicopter Tours Makes Aerial Donation to Boys and Girls Club

The Santa Barbara Helicopter Tours company is donating ten percent of its September profits to the Santa Barbara Boys and Girls Club.

The company says it plans to give back in many ways to the community. Later this year it will be making a similar donation to Girls Inc.

NewsChannel 3 was on aboard a flight today along the coastline that also included a sweeping circle over the near shore waters were humpback whales were coming to the surface through the glistening water.

Other tours go to the Channel Islands, the former home of Michael Jackson at the Neverland – Sycamore Valley ranch, Rancho del Cielo where the late President Ronald Reagan vacationed, and through the high end communities of Hope Ranch and Montecito.

Pilots say they stay at least 1000 feet up in many areas and don’t hover over anyone’s home. They are trying to be good neighbors in the sky. “We do everything we can to fly friendly and quietly,” said Casey.

No flight is the same. “Just on a quick flight down to the polo fields, (Sunday) we saw 5000 dolphins,” said Casey. “It was wonderful. It was really nice to see.”

Passengers on board can talk back and forth to the pilot and hear communications through headsets to have a full interactive experience on the flight.
