UCSB Welcomes Freshmen this Week

UC Santa Barbara is getting set to welcome 4500 freshmen to the campus later this week.

It’s an amazing group. School officials say their grade point average is 4.13.

Many of the dorms are being upgraded with new furniture, paint, and carpet. Some will have three students to a room utilizing one complete bunk bed, a second bunk with just the top bed installed, and below, the room will have three desks.

Some incoming students have arrived already to check out the campus including some athletes.

Some of the older students said they are pleased with the way their college education has been going but know they are many challenging months ahead until they graduate. As for jobs, most say they will worry about that when they get to the finish line.

Overall, the UCSB move in weekend ahead is expected to be a very busy time with parents, students, and staff all working together on and off campus.

Classes officially begin September 26.
