Man Wanted For Stabbing Identified

Santa Maria police investigators have identified a man wanted in a July, 2013 knife attack.

Manuel Cortez faces attempted murder charges. The incident happened about 8 p.m. on July 3 at 1650 North Broadway in Santa Maria. However, police are just now releasing the information to the public seeking their assistance in locating Cortez.

Cortez has several very distinctive tattoos which include a San Diego Chargers symbol on the right side of his head, the words “Santa Maria” on the left side of his head and pink colored lips on the left side of his neck.

He is considered to be armed and dangerous. If you see Cortez or know his whereabouts, do not approach him or attempt to apprehend him. Instead, call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 1-877-800-9100.
