Clover Fire Proves Deadly

The so-called Clover fire near Redding, California is to blame for one death and the loss of dozens of homes.

Firefighters found the body of a man in a home that had burned.

The fire that started Monday has grown to more than 7,000 acres.

Its burned more than 30 homes and a large number of structures.

KRCR anchor Mark Mester said he met one family that lost everything including livestock, while another home was saved by defensible space created by animals grazing.

Mester also said a volunteer firefighter who lost his home remained the fire lines to help.

More than a thousand firefighters are working to contain it.

Firefighters with Cal Fire said cool temperatures are helping them build containment lines.

The fire is 40 percent contained.
