Practice in Session for ‘Thriller’ Flash Mob

Thousands of zombies across the world will arise from the dead to perform Michael Jackson’s iconic dance “Thriller” on the Saturday before Halloween.

For the fourth year in a row, nonprofit organization World Dance for Humanity hosts the event at the Santa Barbara Courthouse Sunken Gardens.

The Oct. 26 event will raise money for its Rwanda Education Fund. Rehearsals began Sept. 10 at various locations around Santa Barbara and costs $35 per class.

The money goes straight into assisting the children and young adults in the 12 communities World Dance serves.

Rehearsals are open to the public until the day of the show and World Dance hopes to attract 300 participants for the actual day.

The “Thriller” flash mob can be seen around State Street, Ghost Village Road and outside Neverland Ranch, Michael Jackson’s home in Los Olivos. World Dance is still looking for more zombie volunteers.
