Man Dies in Santa Maria Crash

A 20-year old Santa Maria man died after a crash investigators believe could have been avoided.

Fernando Eulogio was driving along the shoulder of Simas Road near the Betteravia transition when he pulled in front of another driver. CHP investigators believe Eulogio didn’t see the other driver before the accident. His actions caused both vehicles to crash.

The driver of the other vehicle complained of pain and abrasions and was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. Weather at the time of the 5:00 p.m. Tuesday accident was clear, and not considered a factor in the accident.
