Santa Maria child flown to local hospital

Police say a family member was backing out of a driveway and hit a child. The driver reportedly heard a cry so they stopped the car. The child was found under the car.

The child was flown to Cottage Hospital by helicopter.

Officers are investigating to see if alcohol was a factor. No arrest have been made.

Police have not updated the child’s condition.
