Drug Store Robbery Suspect Caught

Deputies arrested Mehdi Benemar, 19, of Oxnard, following an armed robbery at the CVS Pharmacy on Carmen Drive in Camarillo Wednesday afternoon.

Officers said they caught the suspect as he ran away from the store.

They recovered a replica gun and a large number of prescription medication bottles.

Investigators released surveillance video of the crime.

The teen may also be responsible for similar crimes in other parts of Ventura county and in Santa Barbara and Los Angeles counties.

Benemar is being held on $200,000 bail.
