Anchor Woodfire Kitchen Closes Abruptly
The Anchor Woodfire Kitchen restaurant in Santa Barbara which opened in January has closed abruptly.
Employees who left last night said they had no idea. Some were awakened with a call this morning that the business had shut down.
It’s located on lower State St. as part of the Indigo Hotel.
A representative of the restaurant, contacted by phone, said it’s still unclear if the restaurant will reopen under a different name and concept.
Employees coming by for their checks said business had been steady, even when roadwork nearby was taking place. They said they were “blind sided” by the closure.
About 20 workers reportedly are out of a job.
